Bringing your concert experience to the MAX

As I headed out on a cold and rainy Sunday night, all I wanted was to stay in the comfort of my warm home. Yet, once I left the concert I felt completely reenergized thanks to VINCINT and MAX.

VINCINT -

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, VINCINT is a singer with an extremely powerful voice and with a history of gospel singing. He’s been singing since he was five years old, and with the support and encouragement of his father he began to sing in choirs. After writing his first song at twelve years old, his love for music continued to grow in his teenage years. He attended Berklee College of Music and graduated in 2013.

2018 seemed to be the year to really kick off his career. He was on the show The Four where he preformed a cover of ‘Creep’ by Radiohead, expanding from the genres he grew up to show he was multi-talented in many different genres. Since 2018 he has released multiple songs with many solid features and his audience reach is only growing.

His performance on Sunday night was short and sweet, but the shortness of his set did not take away from his raw talent. Although it was just him and a microphone on stage, his stage presence was immense and he immediately captivated the audience with his angelic singing. He ended his set by going into the audience and singing within the crowd. Even when he was walking around and and singing on the floor his stage presence still shown through. VINCINT is an incredible singer and performer and I can’t wait to see where his career takes him in the upcoming years.

MAX -

Originally from Hell’s Kitchen, MAX is not only a singer and songwriter, but a model and actor. He’s been preforming since the age of three and in his teen years he was an understudy for Broadway. In the 2010’s he co-wrote many songs, a handful which were for TV shows, and acted in a few Nickelodeon productions.

2014 was the year where he seemed to mainly focus on his own music career. While being featured on a Hoodie Allen song ‘Won’t Mind’ he also released his first album NWL that featured his first big hit ‘Mug Shot’. His music career quickly took off and he was signed to DCD2 records in 2015 as well as touring with Fall Out Boy. In 2016 he released his album Hell’s Kitchen Angel which features the song ‘Lights Down Low’, which was in Billboard’s Hot 100 as well as earning Platinum certification. In 2020 he released his third album Colour Vision that has features from the likes of Suga from BTS, bbno$ and more.

His set on Sunday on night was truly electric. His stage presence and energy is genuinely unmatched. He was jumping around the stage, literally doing a split in the air, and getting the audience involved in many different ways. On this tour he’s joined by Cody Dear (piano, synth, saxophone), Ryan (bass, vocals), and Soichiro “Ichi” Tanabe (drums). All four men’s energy matches and blends with each other so well that the concert was amazing to watch. The songs sounded even better live than the studio recordings, which is really difficult to do. Needless to say MAX is an amazing performer and it’s definitely worth your time to go see him live.
