songwriter jules paymer seeking solo success

Last week, I saw a TikTok by Jules Paymer and the song was so catchy I went through the process to pre-save it. Well, that song came out today and DAMN, it’s a bop. I highly recommend pressing play on this while you read the rest of the article. You won’t be disappointed.

Musically, Jules Paymer’s songs check all my boxes. Emotional pop songs with excellent vocals, clever lyrics, heavy percussion, and not-too-heavy use of synth or other instruments. If your playlists, like mine, are filled with artists like Carlie Hanson, L Devine, and MUNA, and you’re looking for someone new to add, look no further.

Raised in LA but now based in Nashville, Jules has been inspired by other songwriters like Julia Michaels and Emily Weisband and is excited about pursuing their career as a solo artist. In a recent interview they said “I’m most proud of my songs that I’ve released under my own name. I think it’s because it took me so long to find my sound and realize who I really was that my music so perfectly encapsulates who I am as a person, songwriter, lover, friend and artist, all in one.”

In another TikTok Jules made light of the difficulties surrounding being a queer, independent artist by recording themself sending their single “FUCK MY EXES” to anyone at the girl in red show (a notoriously 🌈 fanbase) who had their airdrop on. Brilliant publicity if you ask me. I would love to be airdropped a single while I’m waiting on a show!

Anyway, I’m pumped to see what else Jules releases over the next few months and will definitely be front row if they ever make it to Chicago!
