Eartheater -

Alexandra Drewchin, also known as Trinity Vigorsky as well as Eartheater, is an American instrumentalist, producer, composer and vocalist. Born in Pennsylvania and now based in Queens, NY, she has been performing music since 2009. Her music is hard to put into one singular category and cna be explained as a combination of experimental electronic music, industrial pop, as well as psychedelic folk.

Since 2015, Eartheater has released five albums and one mixtape; Metalepsis (2015), RIP Chrysalis (2015), Irisiri (2018), Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin (2020), and her most recent release Powders (September 20th, 2023). She has a sister album to Powders titled Aftermath that is set to be released in 2024. Her mixtape Trinity was released in 2019.

Eartheater has also collaborated with a handful of notable artists including Show Me The Body, Moor Mother and even did guitar for Caroline Polachek’s song “Ocean of Tears” in 2019. She also produced Lolahol’s Ep Go that was released in 2022. Eartheater has also founded the record label Chemical X.

Eartheater’s set was one of the more fun shows that I’ve been to in a very long time. She had incredible stage presence and knew how to interact with the crowd; it wasn’t too much and she didn’t ignore them. It was a perfect playful interaction throughout the night. She was joined on stage for the night by drummer Chloe Saavedra and multi instrumentalist Pablo. She did a ballad rendition of System of a Down’s “Chop Suey", which I had never heard before, and was shocked at how beautiful she made the song. She had a very mystical and ethereal vibe throughout her set that was extremely captivating to listen to as well as watch. She seemed extremely confident and comfortable on the stage, and was easily able to bounce off of the crowd’s energy when there was a pause in the set for Pablo to fix something for the next song. The dynamic between the three of them was wonderful and the energy from the crowd was infectious. Eartheater’s music, sound, vibe and overall presence was so enthralling that I have, without a doubt, been pulled in with her and his discography was immediately added to my music library the second the show was over.

MY FAVORITE SONG: “Heels Over Head” off of Powders (2023)

Concrete Husband -

Concrete Husband is a music producer based in Brooklyn, New York. He started his musicial career as a classically trained flutist and became a music producer as well as a composer and DJ. His music can be described as hard groove, hard techno, and industrial techno. His music is known to generate queer narratives of “psychedelic mania & sweaty sensuality” (resident advisor). Being classicaly trained as a flutist and composer, the severity and discipline that comes with that has really shaped his musical development in more current years.

Many people ahve said that his sound elicits a sense of fark fantasies that are paired with aggressive sexual energy. His music gives feels of score for fashion, film and fine art spaces. He was featured as the improvising flutist for A24’s Beau is Afriad as well as the head producer for Choral Chameleon’s Choral Rave. He is yet to release an album, but has released multiple singles that can be found multiple palces online that have been released under the moniker Concrete Husband.

Concrete Husband’s set consisted of a pre-made backing track playing through the monitor while he played the flute as well as adding some vocal elements throughout. The whole set was mainly back lit with the colors switching between an aggressive red, a bright and sharp blue, as well as a cool and welcoming blue, purple and pink. Due to the back lighting, he was mainly a silhouette for most of the set which added to the airy environment. The start of his set felt and sounded like a movie soundtrack, like a journey of a lost traveler or the calm after a big battle. As his set went on, the backing track moved into more heaby club beats, but the flute remained on the top of the track. He also has an angelic voice Concrete Husband’s music and sound completely mesmerized the crowd and left us all in a trance while we watched him.
