STS9 @ Red Rocks 7/21/23

STS9 returned to Denver, Colorado for a 3 day spread starting off at Paramount Theatre & ending their last 2 days at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. STS9 performed an amazing 3 set show on both nights.

Friday’s first set started out with a rainbow & some light rain as the STS9 began their performance. Kicing things off with Circus and Native End into ReEmergence brought such a beautiful tone to match the weather. The musical and visual beauty elevating when the sun set. STS9 brought the heat by ending the set with one of the smoothest transitions of songs with Really What into Blu Mood.

Set 2’s chromalight experience was a fun, successful experiment the band implemented by coordinating the instruments to the lighting in a way never seen before. It felt like a play of improv 2.0 that turned into a big dance party throughout the entire venue, with vibes that were unmatched.

Set 3 featured “Out of This World” performed without lyrics for the first time. Doing so, it goes to show just how beautiful the band can perform their songs in instrumental versions. STS9 followed up with heavy drum and bass vibes with ABCees - from there the band was on fire throughout the rest of the night. The night ended with a surprise encore, playing “Instantly”. The entire crowd went wild & were so excited to hear the sample drop. The crowd escalated into high gear with the drop before concluding the dance party for the night, leaving those that would return the next day excited for more.

STS9 always seem to outdo themselves every time they perform, leaving fans excited to see what else they have in store for the future.
